Author Guidlines

These guidelines explain the requirements for submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Interdisciplinary Research (JIR). Authors are required to read and comply with all provisions below.


1. Originality and Manuscript Status

The manuscript:

  • is the original work of the author(s)

  • has not been previously published

  • is not under consideration in another journal

  • does not contain plagiarism (checked using plagiarism detection software)


2. Manuscript Language

Manuscripts may be written in:

  • standard Indonesian language, or

  • academic English with correct grammar


3. Types of Articles Accepted

The journal accepts:

  • research articles

  • case studies

  • review articles / literature reviews

  • development of models, systems, or applications

  • conceptual or theoretical studies

  • multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research


4. Manuscript Submission

  • Submission is made through the OJS (Online Submission System)

  • Authors are required to register and log in before submission

  • Manuscripts submitted by email will not be processed


5. Article Template

  • Manuscripts must use the journal template

  • The template is available in the Download Article Template menu

  • Authors are not allowed to change:

    • margins

    • font type and size

    • heading format

    • page layout


6. General Structure of the Article

The article should be arranged in the following order:

  1. Title

  2. Author name(s) and affiliation(s)

  3. Corresponding author email

  4. Abstract

  5. Keywords

  6. Introduction

  7. Research Method

  8. Results and Discussion

  9. Conclusion

  10. Acknowledgment (optional)

  11. References


7. Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract is written in Indonesian or English

  • Abstract length: 150–250 words

  • Keywords: 3–5 words, separated by commas


8. Manuscript Format

  • The manuscript format must follow the article template provided by the journal

  • Authors are required to use the latest version of the template available on the journal website

  • All settings related to layout, font, spacing, headings, and reference style must comply with the template

  • Manuscripts that do not follow the template may be returned to the authors for correction


9. Tables

  • Presentation of tables must follow the article template

  • Each table is numbered consecutively and given a clear title

  • Tables must be readable and placed according to template guidelines

  • Data sources must be stated when tables are reproduced or adapted


10. Figures, Graphs, and Illustrations

  • Figures, graphics, and illustrations must follow the article template

  • Each figure is numbered consecutively and provided with a clear caption

  • All figures must be of sufficient quality to ensure readability

  • If figures are taken from other sources, the source must be properly cited


11. Citations and References

  • Citations and references must follow the citation style determined by the journal (generally APA style)

  • The use of reference management software is strongly recommended, such as:

    • Mendeley

    • Zotero

    • EndNote

  • Preferred references include:

    • journal articles

    • conference proceedings

    • academic books

  • References from the last five years are prioritized (except classic theories)


12. Publication Ethics

By submitting a manuscript, the author(s):

  • agree to the journal’s Publication Ethics

  • declare that the work is original

  • do not commit duplicate publication

  • do not falsify or manipulate data


13. Review Process

  • All submitted manuscripts are reviewed through a double-blind peer-review process

  • Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to reviewer/editor comments

  • The editor reserves the right to edit language and format without altering the substance of the article


14. Copyright

  • Copyright remains with the author(s)

  • Authors grant permission to the journal to publish the manuscript

  • Articles are published under open access principles


15. Publication Fee

Information regarding Article Processing Charge (APC), if applicable, will be announced on the journal website.
