Abstract
Background: Pregnancy planning is a crucial measure for preventing high risk pregnancies, while preconception reproductive health plays a vital role in preparing prospective couples to have healthy children. Objective: To determine the influence of education via the kescatin digital application and leaflets on pregnancy planning decisions among pre-marital women as an effort to prevent unintended pregnancies at the Cibeber District Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) in 2026. Methods: This study employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group approach. Thirty respondents were selected via purposive sampling and divided into two groups of 15 respondents each. Data analysis utilized a paired-sample t-test to assess the effects before and after the intervention within each group, and an independent-sample t-test to compare the effects of the two educational media. Results: The study results indicate that education via the kescatin digital application (p-value = 0.001 < 0.05) and leaflets (p-value = 0.003 < 0.05) influenced pregnancy planning decisions among pre-marital women. The independent-sample t-test results showed that education via the kescatin digital application yielded slightly higher results compared to leaflets, with a difference of 0,20 points (p-value = 0.962). Conclusion: Education via the kescatin digital application and leaflets influences pregnancy planning decisions among pre-marital women in the effort to prevent unintended pregnancies at the Cibeber District KUA in 2026. However, the Kescatin application demonstrated slightly superior results compared to leaflets in enhancing pregnancy planning decisions.
